1)  It  is  not for kids,  it  is adult entertainment with adult themes and situations.
This  makes  it appeal to a wide audience.

2) It engages  your brain.

It  is  a good  thing  to  use  your brain.

3)  No  one is safe. Main characters can  suddenly  die.

4) People are  complex ,  sometimes acting  on  unknown motives. Many conflicts are not seen as good Vs bad /  light Vs dark  etc.

5) Women  can be powerful ,  and a lot  of  things. Game  Of Thrones is not just a mans world.

6) Real  life situations in a medievil setting

7) Interesting Back-stories

8) Great Writing/Acting/& Production.

 They All Know  How To Play The Game.

How Well Do You Know The Dothraki ?

This strange bunch  of blokes look  like making a return to the Game Of Thrones in  next season.

They  like  to fight with curved swords amoung other weapons.
A purpose  of  a  curved sword is  to  swing it and stab  around the edge of a shield.  It  has  been pointed out that  the Dothraki  have  not  been seen doing  that.

The Dothraki language is primitive with a lot of grunts , and is missing some important words . For example  there is no word for thank you.
